Organic Fennel Seeds

Fennel seeds are the dried seed of the fennel herb, and look like cumin seeds, only greener. They have an aniseed flavour and a warm, sweet aroma. They can be used on their own or in spice mixes such as Chinese five-spice powder and Indian panch phoran.

Fennel seeds are collected from the aromatic fennel herb (Foeniculum vulgare). The green-brown seeds have a sweet, aniseed flavour and warm aroma. They have a wide range of uses in cooking - use whole or crushed to add their distinctive flavour to vegetable, meat and savoury dishes, or sprinkle on cakes and biscuits before baking.

Fennel seeds look a lot like cumin seeds, but they’re a softer green colour and have a warm and sweet aniseed flavour. They can be used whole in stews, added to marinades or sprinkled on salads to give them a vibrant, aromatic kick. You can use organic fennel seeds in pilafs, curries, bread and biscuit recipes or sprinkle them over soups and salads for a delicious flavour boost.
